Reviewing the Drought in Pacung Village

GOVERNOR DEMANDE TO UTILIZE RESOURCES TO OVERCOME THE DROUGHT
Drought that hits Bali recently has got the special attention from Bali Governor, Made Mangku Pastika. So he aided 4000 m3 of water trough tanker to Pacung village, Tejakula subdistrict, Buleleng regency, on Wednesday (10/9).
According to headman of Pacung village, I Made Yasa, the drought has caused by dry session and village topography which is a plateau, so water is very difficult to be pumped. Furthermore, Yasa explained that the village is contained of 1.045 KK (head of family), and 25% of them are poor. Yasa also thanked for the aid and he also expected that the aid will be continued so people be able to get water.
On his visit, Pastika also shared directly the water to the people. He delivered his concern about this disaster. “I don’t want see the same thing again, people goes a long away just to get water, I’am shy and sad to see it. We have a resources to help them, just like what we do know, please send them tankers of water,” stated Pastika. On that occasion, Pastika also reviewed the Water Supply System’s (SPAM) construction in Pacung village, the program is a collaboration between central, provincial and regency government and has budgeted about 3 billion from central government, 1 billion from provincial government and 600 million from regency government. Governor Pastika expected that the SPAM is able to fulfil the water needs in long term to Pacung villagers, and there will be not the lack of water for the future. “It should be overcame by utilizing the available resources effectively,” conclude him.
After reviewing the SPAM, Pastika visited Ketut Sujani, one of poor villagers in Pacung. Governor advised to that 6 children’s mother to leave her childrens in orphanage that is organized by Bali Social Agency in Buleleng. “I feel sorry to see them, I hope that she is willing to stay there, if it is necessary, Ketut Sujani can work in that orphanage, I will finance her salary. We must respond of the same situation, because it will decrease the poverty,” said Pastika.
