More than 1.300 of dialysis patients has been helped by Health Insurance for Balinese Peoples (JKBM) which was launched by Bali Provincial Government via Made Mangku Pastika as a Governor. The Government has disbursed to that program about Rp. 45 million in 2013. It was explained by Head of Bali Health Agency, dr. Ketut Suarjaya through Head of Bali PR Agency, Dewa Gede Mahendra Putra, on Monday (7/7).
Suarjaya also explained that free dialysis for Balinese people is one of JKBM service that was started on beginning of 2013. The service aimed to help patients because normally the service needs a high cost. For one time service, patient should pay not less than Rp. 750.000,00, whereas patient should do the treatment two times a week. “Imagine how much the patients should pay to their survival,” added Suarjaya. So, the service really helps peoples who are still dependent on hemodialysis.
Generally, Suarjaya stated that on the recent year non-communicable disease (PTM) has decreased sigificanlly. Ironically, if we do not give an attention to it, PTM like hypertension and diabetes mellitus will need a dialysis. According to him, the phenomenon happens because the technological advances making peoples decrease their physical movement. If we calculate, PTM reaches to 80%, it’s more than infection diseases. More alarming, PTM which is containing hypertension, hearth attack, cancer, phthisis and diabetes, caused 60% of death.
Besides the lack of physical movement, unhealthy lifestyle, nicotine and alcohol has caused PTM increasing. These diseases need a long time treatment, high cost and so difficult to be cured. Beside death causing, it could decrease their productivity and of course will impact to economic problem and the poverty. “So, prevention is better,” said him. To prevent PTM, Suarjaya campaign CERDIK. It means checking your health regularly, stay away from nicotine, diligent exercise, do diet with balanced nutrition, enough rest and manage the stress. According to him, government also prevents PTM inventively through multispectral approach.
