As a Pilot Project of New and Renewable Energy, Officials of Bali Provincial Government Will Use Electris Car

Governor of Bali, Made Mangku Pastika, will install electricity produced roof diesel cell which will be used by official vehicles, because Bali has been chosen as pilot project of new energy using by Minister of Energy and Human Resources (ESDM). In 2018 Bali will be targeted use clean and renewable energy. It was delivered by Pastika in press conference after being a speaker in Renewable Energy Forum yang diselenggarakan atas kerjasama Kementrian ESDM dengan World Agroforestry Centre and UNCORCID ( United Nations Office for Redd+ Coordination in Indonesia ) at Courtyard Marriot Nusa Dua, on saturday ( 16/10). Furthermore, Pastika also appreciated Minietry of ESDM entrusts Bali as pilot project. It is also in line with 5 pillars of Bali’s development, especially pro culture and pro environment, as well as with philosophy of Hindou, Tri Hita Karana. He expected Bali will be clean province and also provides benefits for our earth. The program also expected will increase the economy of Bali province without damaging the environment and of course should be in line with Balinese culture. Furthermore, Bali provincial government and Minister of ESDM always try to find new energy source that comes both from ocean current and type of seaweed. It is expected will produce energy which is used for people welfare. “ We will regulate the new and newerby energy that are in line with 5 pillars of development and Tri Hita Karana,” conclude him. Meanwhile Minister of ESDM, Sudirman Said, said that chosen Bali because this island is a tourism destination both from local and international tourists. In order to reaize the plan, ministry and bali provincial government will cooperate with Udayana University, the reachers and the experts. The ministry also prepare its officials to monitor that progress. Ministry has prepared about $ 3 million to fund that program, so when budget is ready, human resourches are also be able be run.

Before press conference, Governor Pastika and Minister Sudirman Said became a speaker and also opened officially Renewable Energy Forum. Pastika explained that Bali province has committed to make Bali as Green and Clean Province. It is proven from agriculture sector that has produced organic agricultural product, and uses new and renewable energy like wind, water and biogas. Protecting springs, government also reforested as well as protected lake and others springs. Pastika added the obstacle in realizing health, clean and environmental friendly of Bali is lack of people to aware environment. Government also has made program called Desa Sadar Lingkungan (Village awares on environment). It aims to socialize community about the important of using energy efectively and efficiently in our daily life. Equally important is warning and teaching young generations on the important of environmental caring and energy saving effort in daily ife. The 1st man of Bali also invited all steakholders and communities together solving the problem and realizing Bali clean and environmental friendly by referring on 5 pillars and Tri Hita Karana concept. Minister Sudirman Said also delivered the sam thing. New and renewable energy is not only provide new energy, but also will protect our nature from contamination, as well as giving health impact to community. So he expected the forum is not only for exchange ideas but also will give solution for our nation in order to create new energy which will impact for people welfare. Ministry of ESDM has created Center of Excellence for clean energy which is located in Bali. The institution is expected be able to support this national program. Renewable Energy Forum will be held from 16 through 17 of october 2015 and attended by 120 participants who come from academism, research, and scientist come from Indonesia and abroad.
