Art Collaboration between Japan and Bali Is Expected be Able to Inspire Balinese Artists

Art colaboration between Japan and Bali is expected be able to inspire and motivate Balinese artist in creating the valuable and qualified art in order to protect and conserve our culture. It was delivered by Bali governor Made mangku Pastika when watching the colaboration between japanese art called Hayachine Take Kagura with Balinese barong sai dance in Nadya mandala hall, Indonesia Art Institute (ISI) Denpasar, on Tuesday (1/9).

“I expect the artist will be inspired and motivated after watching this colaboration,” stated Pastika. According to him, artists are not ordinary people, because they have an ability to creat a qualified creation. “The artists are not ordinary people, peoples are divided into 3 groups, 1st group is ordinary people who work with their logic and brain, but one level above is artists who working not only with their logic bu also with their feeling. And, the highest level is spiritual leaders,” explained Pastika. He expected for the future Bali will more develop as well as constantly enriched by the entry of art and culture from outside. “I sure that the quality of art will getting better with the entry of sacred art from around the world, because art also be able to refine human soul,” added Pastika.

Meanwhile ISI rector, I Gede Arya Sugiartha, explained that the collaboration performance is idea of Consulat Generale of Japan through Organizing Committee of Take Kagura Indonesia. Furthermore he said that Hayachine Take Kagura is a dance and traditional music that usually performed in place of worship henceforthas asacrificeto thegods.  Take Kagura is one of Kagura (mask, red) which is preserved by group of Take Kagura preservation for more than 500 years in a village at foot of Hayachine mountain. The mountain has 1.917m above sea level in Iwate, Japan. Take Kagura is established as an intangible culture heritage by Japanese government in 1976, hereinafter has been performed throughout Japan. Besides in Japan, it has performanced in abroad like in Canda, twice in France, US, Russia, South Korea and India since 1990. It has also registered as the tangible culture world heritage by UNESCO in 2009. Arya expected the relationship between two country especially in art will more closely after the collaboration. (PM)
